We’ve had a look around and compiled for you the creme de la creme of luxury cars within an affordable (well, as far as high end goes) price range. From as early as age five many people already have an idea of what type/brand of car they would like to buy in their lifetime. And let’s be honest, nobody aims for the everyday run of the mill models. It usually has a luxurious quality that attracts the eye and stamps its name onto your memory.
Cars that are aspired to generally have the feel of scarcity…we don’t want to know that everyone has or can afford what we have. This often comes with a big price tag. But that is often the case when you don’t have the knowledge of how to acquire such luxury without emptying your life’s savings.
Here is a list of cars that you can find in 2019 which won’t break the bank. They are all under $50,000.
2019 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
The starting MSRP of this car is MSRP of $41,400. Given the specs of this luxury vehicle, you’d be surprised at this meagre price tag. The C-Class is a great mix of performance and high quality.
The engine is a 2.0liter turbocharged powerhouse with 273 pound-feet of torque and 255 horsepower. You’d come to expect around 22 mpg in the city and 31 on the highway. The transmission is smooth and super-responsive with nine speeds.
Although it seems like there are a host of specs in-built in this car to warrant raving reviews, the US News and World Report put it at number 12 out of 22 vehicles in the same class.
This somewhat mediocre rating was based on some tech features which were found to be a bit confusing.
2019 Lincoln Continental
This luxury car starts at $46,145 and although it is somewhat closer to the $50,000, it is still within the bracket of affordable luxury and you’ll find its specs well worth looking at. The interior alone will have you appreciating its elegance. From the durable real wood finish to the chic Venetian leather making up the interior design, it speaks to the comfort and style of high quality indulgence.
This Lincoln Continental also comes with an advanced heads-up display that shows the driver important information about the road and vehicle.
Where this vehicle wins is with it’s 3.0liter V6 engine that packs power and road responsiveness in its twin turbochargers. 400 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque provides a joyride
This engine puts out 400 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. The amount of power provided by the engine makes the vehicle a fun ride for those who enjoy a premium performance. Although not as fuel efficient as the C-Class Mercedes Benz, it still is rated at a fuel economy of 17mpg off-highway and 25 on the highway.
The performance of the 2019 Lincoln Continental is worth the cost as it successfully competes with sedans which cost a lot more. The reviews have stacked up against it though, as when compared to other vehicles in the same luxury sedan class, similar features can be found at a cheaper price.
2019 Kia Stinger
The Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price starts as low as $32,900 for this sedan, making it one of the most appealing options in the luxury car category. There are also purchase options where specifications are concerned with choice of either a 2.0liter or 3.3liter engine. Of course depending on what you choose the horsepower and torque would vary. The smaller engine option produces 255 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque while the bigger engine gets you 365 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. The fuel runs at 19 mpg in the city and 25 on the highway in the larger engine models which can also see you do 0-60 in 4.7 seconds.
This car is a steady favorite as US News and World Report rate it as third in its class due to the power behind the engine and excellent handling. Edmunds also had high praises for it’s its interior design elements. This car is definitely up there with the luxury car lineup of 2019. Although there have been a few sticking points raised by reviews (with regards to steering on some surfaces and the touchscreen controller being slightly out of reach of the average driver), this car’s excellent qualities make it stand out in more positive ways than negative, making it one of this year’s most valuable purchases.
2019 Lexus ES
This Lexus can be purchased from around $39,600. Forget understated luxury! This car features a show-stopping front grille and unique lines shaping the exterior. This car prides itself on pushing the technological envelope while not compromising on luxury standards.
The 2019 Lexus ES sports a 3.5liter V6 engine which has a nice 302 horsepower output with 267 pound-feet of torque.
If all of the above wasn’t reason enough to acquire this luxuries baby, the fuel economy of 22mpg off-highway and 33 on highway makes the appeal even stronger. You can save on lengthier rides while enjoying noise cancelling features and a smooth ride.
Based on US News and World Report it is the lowest priced, highest ranked midsize car in its class. Several competitors have been placed above it on the list, but they fail to meet the lower prices of the 2019 Lexus ES.
2019 BMW 3 Series
Among the 2019 luxury cars, the BMW 3 Series had to make the top list of under $50K priced models. It starts at an MSRP of $45,000. The standard engine size offered is 2.0liters with 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. If you’re up for some customisation and more engine capacity and power, it can be upgraded to a 3.0liter engine that would allow 382 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque.
The fuel economy varies as would be expected with the 2.0liter giving 3 mpg in the city and 33 on the highway while the 3.0liter went down to 20mpg in the city and 29mpg on highways.
When compared to other luxury vehicles in its class, the 2019 BMW 3 Series holds its own. Despite a couple reviews expressing want of more cargo space, price comparisons show that if you are searching for similar quality and classy interior designs, the BMW is worth the price tag and still comes out cheaper than many sporting similar features. Also, although there are a couple models which can boast similar power outputs, like the Kia Stinger (that offers a lower price point for similar performance), the 2019 BMW 3 Series is well worth the choice.
